As physiotherapy is a constantly evolving profession with evidence and new journals appearing on a daily basis it is vital that Julie stays up to date with the latest research. Julie Recently travelled to Aberdeen and Edinburgh to hear the latest research be presented.
In Aberdeen Julie updated her Acupuncture licence by attending a continuous professional development (CPD) day, organised by the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP). During the course of the day Julie learnt the new skills and theory behind electro-acupuncture, Gua Sha and cupping. Which she can now offer in clinic for suitable patients for pain management.
The following day Julie then travelled to Edinburgh to attend a conference on 'The Management of the Artistic Gymnast,' was held. A lot of new research was presented specifically related to gymnastics, ice skating and the psychology of sport.
