Julie was lucky enough to be able to attend the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in order to classify cycling athletes at both the Izu velodrome (track events) and the Fuji speed way (road events).
During her time there Julie was based at the cycling venues. Her role was to work with the UCI to classify international athletes in order to compete. Normally classification would not happen at the Paralympic games, athletes would normally be assessed at world cups leading up to the games. However, due to Covid a lot of world cups had to be cancelled meaning Julie was invited to work in Tokyo. This was an incredible opportunity and one Julie very much enjoyed.
